Ox Equipment provides sales, service, and repair to the heavy construction industry. Specializing in repair and service to Suction Excavation and Hydro Excavation trucks and equipment as well as repair and maintenance to all types of trailers and trucks.

What are we looking for?

Due to continued success and growth, we are looking to add an experienced Service Manager to join our team in Burlington Ontario. The successful candidate will direct and monitor all day-to-day Shop activities with the goal of promoting exceptional customer service, increasing productivity, improving processes and championing a safety culture. This is a full-time career opportunity reporting directly to the Fleet Manager.

  • Direct, motivate and coach employees to create a culture of teamwork and cooperation
  • Lead and facilitate weekly staff meetings
  • Chair the Health & Safety Committee
  • Manage the recruitment process
  • Control work flow processes to ensure efficiencies and productivity
  • Prepare quotes and manage work orders
  • Track and control all warranty claims
  • Troubleshoot and diagnosing fleet issues
  • Advise on mechanical and technical problem-solving
  • Supervise all work performed to ensure the highest quality and on-time repairs

Who are you?

  • 5+ years of Management experience in a related position, preferably in heavy-duty, industrial, agricultural equipment
  • A valid 310T or 310S license is considered an asset
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Shop management practices, preventative maintenance theory, Ministry regulations and the Occupational Health & Safety Act
  • Proven ability to develop processes and procedures that create efficiencies and increase productivity
  • Effective leadership and communication skills
  • Mechanical and technical expertise of heavy-duty equipment repair and hydro-electric systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications and service maintenance management software
  • Champion of Health & Safety

  1. Licensed and certified as a Truck and Coach Technician (310T)
  2. Previous experience in a similar role
  3. Proven leadership skills
  4. Team player, safe, and professional
  5. Experience working with hydraulics

Job Responsibilites and Duties

  1. Perform preventative and necessary maintenance, repairs, and inspections on truck fleet
  2. Troubleshooting and diagnosing fleet issues
  3. Adhere to safety policies and standards
  4. Work with Truck and Coach apprentice
  5. Attend monthly safety meetings
  6. Attend, comply, and complete any necessary training
  7. Report to fleet manager
  8. Other duties as required

  3. Check and top up hub levels
  4. Change oil on stationary engines and class 8 trucks
  5. Check lights document and report service

  7. Attend monthly safety meetings
  8. Attend, comply and complete any necessary training
  9. Other duties as required
